Charter Benefits

In a World full of time critical decisions and where change has to be adopted rather than ignored, being in the right place at the right time has never been more important.

Face-to-face business contact

Flying privately does not have to be an extravagance but can be a justifiable business expense - modern communications are no substitute for face-to-face business contact. The productivity benefits for your company are highly increased as time is used to its maximum.

There's no present like the time

Whether it business or pleasure, private jet charter allows you to have more of your own time and can be cost-effective in terms of company performance. This is becoming more apparent to many companies who have realised that business aviation can be a tool to greater success. The principal advantages are the fact you can fly in and out of airports close to your meetings and work with your team on the flight. There is also the immeasurable return that an employee gives back to the company in their work after a stress-free day of meetings away from the office - commonly known as the 'feel-good' factor.

Many studies have quantified the benefits of business aviation. An American study found that organisations using executive jet travel earned 146% more in cumulative returns than non-business aircraft operators. The case study shown below illustrates that private jet travel can not only get you to many more destinations than scheduled airlines, but shows that it is affordable when compared to flying in first class on a scheduled flight.

The Case for Private Aviation

London-Moscow-Krakow-Tallinn-Dusseldorf-London: This is the classic 'no-brainer' case study for justifying a private jet: sending a team on a complex, multi-leg itinerary around the bits of Europe poorly served by airlines. Not only is the itinerary almost impossible with airlines, it costs more when factoring in incidental expenses such as hotels. The real benefit of the private jet, however, is reaped in executive productivity: they're back at their desks a whole working day earlier with the private jet.

We have compared a six-man team flying private against a team flying business class on airlines. The latter are using the best available options. The costs for the private team are worked out using a 'worst case' private jet in terms of price - a brand new £7m Raytheon Hawker 800XP. We've assumed the firm in question has paid half up-front, and has borrowed the rest, which is a typical way of buying. All costs are factored in, including depreciation at 4 per cent a year.

The team departs from Heathrow on Monday morning, and the flying time to Moscow is almost identical. But where our privately piloted team gain hours is in the transfer lounges. Over the six-day trip they gain 43 hours, arriving in Blighty on Thursday afternoon rather than Saturday morning, and they spend only 11hrs on a plane, as opposed to 21hr 35mins if using an airline. Flying from Krakow to Tallinn on a private jet takes 1hr 40mins direct. The alternative is to transfer via Warsaw and Copenhagen: a 6hr trip. Flying direct from Tallinn to Dusseldorf is also impossible using conventional methods. A 2hr 20min flight turns into a 5hr 50min nightmare.

Flying private is also cheaper. Assuming each flyer earns £50,000 and gets a daily allowance of £74 with £150 a night for hotels, the Hawker is over £500 cheaper than business class. Trade in the Hawker for a cheaper Cessna, and the savings race into the thousands.
